Hand crafted, the Cloud Trees from Statement Trees are all unique. Each tree has been carefully grown and pruned in a specific manner to give it it’s shape and style, with branches carrying clipped foliage suggesting drifting clouds.
History of Cloud Pruning: Niwaki is a style of pruning that dates back as early as the 1200's in Japan. It is the method of training trees and shrubs into shapes resembling clouds. It is known as 'Niwaki', the translation of which is 'garden tree'. The style is said to depict the distilled essence of the tree. This type of pruning does not have to be used in solely Japanese-style gardens; it can be used as a feature in gardens of many different styles.
